Granny's Riddle, a new menu, and riddles for your friends

Granny Wordsmith went up on PixelPicked yesterday with just one game, Granny's Pick of the Day. It's been a busy day in the orchard since then, and this update brings two more.

🍎 New: Granny's Riddle A new riddle every day. Granny gives you a clue, like "What goes in my apple pie", and hides a few words in one tree. Find them all before the apples rot. Spell other real words along the way (4 letters or more) and every third one earns you a hint, which reveals a letter of a word you haven't found yet. There are over 100 riddles in the basket already.

🌳 New: write a riddle for a friend Pick a clue and the words it hides, and Granny plants them in a tree for you. Send the link to a friend and see if they can solve it.

🧺 A menu of games The game now opens on a menu with all three: Granny's Riddle, Granny's Pick and Custom Riddle. The house button takes you back to it. In the first upload it tried to leave PixelPicked, which wasn't very polite of it.

📤 Better sharing Share how you did without giving the words away. A riddle shares its clue, an apple for each word you found, a 💡 for each hint, and your time. Granny's Pick shares your points, what rotted, and how your word count stacks up against Granny's. A ⭐ means you matched her best score; a 🏆 means you beat it.

✨ Smaller things

• Tapping an apple higher up a column used to pick the lowest one anyway, a surprise letter in your basket. Now nothing gets picked, and the apple you can pick gives a little wiggle.
• Wooden doors cover each tree until it's fully drawn, then slide open. No more half-loaded orchards, and no apples fall while you wait.
• On big screens the game sits in a tablet-sized frame with the orchard behind it.
• No coins in the browser version. They didn't buy anything here, so they're gone.

📱 In the phone app The app has everything above, plus the levels and the Daily Arcade. New there since the first upload:

• Haptics on iPhone: a happy buzz when you find a riddle word, a light tick for a real word, and a buzz for rot only when it matters. There's a Vibration switch if you'd rather not.
• A 🔥 streak badge on each game's icon. Granny's Pick now keeps its own streak, for picking all three trees days in a row.
• Coins for playing: 2, 5 or 10 for a level's stars, 10 for solving the riddle, 10 for picking all three of Granny's trees, and bonuses at 7 and 30 days of riddle streak.
• Stuck on a riddle? Watch an ad for a hint.
• From level 11 there's an occasional ad between levels. Never in Granny's Riddle or Granny's Pick, and never for Granny's Club members.
• Pause shows how long your game will keep while you're away.
• The app tells you when a fresh version is ready.

What's next Granny Wordsmith is in beta on iPhone (TestFlight), and an Android version is on its way to Google Play. The browser version stays free. Come back tomorrow, dear: there'll be a fresh riddle and three new trees.
