Initial devlog
I'm not totally sure what to title these devlogs. Maybe inspiration will strike for the next one. I asked my friend's son to playtest Mad Marble for a little bit, and he was a wealth of suggestions. Among the very basic features that I missed were achievements. He was extremely excited when I told him that I had implemented it today per his suggestion. I didn't realize that achievements would be such an important feature. He didn't even ask about the rewards for the achievements, just that there were achievements at all. I think the results came out pretty well.
While I was designing the achievements, I realized that it was time to design a speedometer, so that went in today as well. I personally really like the feature. Hopefully it will be well received as well. I'm realizing that I love adding little customizable features that add flair but don't give the player an advantage or disadvantage in the game. I call it the Fortnight feature. In-game currency can be spent acquiring additional marbles for now. There really isn't much else to spend pips in besides the one extra life to continue a game once. I'll likely add more customizable features in the future, and I'm liking where that is going.
