Why every word you solve becomes a card

Hi PixelPicked. I'm Alex, the solo developer behind Pinteza, made in Portugal.

Pinteza is a daily word puzzle. Everyone gets the same word that day, and it can have five, six or seven letters, so no two days play alike.

The idea I care about most is what happens after you solve it. In most daily puzzles the word is gone the next morning. In Pinteza it stays. Every word you solve joins your collection as a card, with its meaning, its rarity and the day you found it. A few weeks in, you have a small shelf of words you earned, and a reason to open the game tomorrow.

Around the Daily there are other ways to play:

  • Practice, when one word a day is not enough
  • Sprint, three words against a three-minute clock
  • Caos, one rule twist a week, the same for everyone
  • Duo, challenge a friend with a room code
  • Anthology, a hand-made campaign of 200 puzzles (the first ones are free, the rest come with Pinteza Plus)

It's free on Google Play in English, European Portuguese and Brazilian Portuguese, with iPhone coming soon.

I'll keep posting short notes here on how the game is built and what players teach me. If you try it, tell me which word you'd want on your shelf first.
