v0.6.0 — SU-100, sandstorms, sliding on ice and a battlefield that remembers
Blocky Tanks v0.6.0 is out.
New vehicle: SU-100. The 1944 Soviet tank destroyer, built from technical drawings: T-34 chassis, 75 mm frontal armor and a long 100 mm D-10S gun that punches through a Panther or Tiger head-on from range. 24 vehicles in total now.
Every map has its own event: • Minsk pocket: an armored train shells tanks near the railway — get away from the tracks • El Alamein: sandstorms — for 30 seconds you only see what's close • Kharkov, the Tractor Plant and the Reichstag: buildings collapse during the fight and block streets • Kurland and the Reichstag: artillery strikes
Sliding on ice. On frozen Lake Ladoga your tank keeps sliding through turns; heavy tanks slide the most.
Craters. HE shells, bombs and artillery leave craters that stay until the end of the battle — after a long fight the field looks torn up.
More detailed world. Czech hedgehogs, sandbag walls, log-lined trenches, army tents, ammo crates, a warehouse, an oil tank, snowy firs on Ladoga, adobe houses and palms in the desert were all rebuilt as proper models.
