Chiby.io: Drawing game update

DrawIt Gets Redrawn

Drawit has always been the simplest game on chiby: someone draws, everyone else guesses. This update keeps that, and fixes almost everything around it.

You pick your word

The two words you choose from at the start of a Drawit round

Every round now starts with two words, and you choose the one you want to draw. No more staring at a prompt you have no idea how to sketch.

Blind mode is actually fun now

In "Blind Guess the Drawing", your strokes used to be invisible while you drew. Now they fade away a moment after you make them — just enough to keep your bearings, not enough to make it easy. Blind rounds are worth 1.5× points.

A drawing screen built around the canvas

The new Drawit drawing screen, with colours on the left and the tools on the right

The whole screen was rebuilt. On desktop, the tools sit around your drawing instead of crammed in a row underneath: colours down the left, shapes, strokes and the eraser down the right, thickness and opacity along the bottom. The canvas gets everything else.

Buttons and icons are bigger on desktop and phones alike, and the whole thing scales with your screen, so Drawit fills a big monitor instead of sitting small in the middle. Announcements between drawings no longer take over the screen — they appear inside the drawing frame, so the game never stops in front of you.

Points you can see

Scores now pop right on the canvas: +N when you guess a drawing, and again each time someone guesses yours. When drawing time ends, the room sees how many drawings came in and who left the canvas blank.

The rules also got a "Points per mode" section, so you know exactly what a first correct guess pays, how much later guesses drop, and how the ⚡ early-finish bonus and Art Battle stars convert into points.

More Drawit improvements are on the way.
