Update: Everything you wake comes home with you

The Sanctuary starts out almost empty. Dark grass, still water, a book, and not much else.
Then you finish a place, and something comes home with you. First an ancestral tree, standing where there was nothing before. Then a landmark. Then the creatures you woke: a deer that settles by the pond, birds that circle overhead and drop into the trees, fox cubs that play near their den. Each one carries a piece of its own habitat along, so the ground around them changes too, and the grove closes in a little. You never place any of it yourself. You just keep coming back, and every time there is more waiting for you than when you left.
Plus a lot of quiet work you will feel more than see: the game saves now, so your grove is still standing tomorrow. The long arrival at night only plays the first time, because the fifth time you watch the same landing you are not really watching anymore, you are waiting. And the little light being who does all of this was rebuilt from the ground up. She carries her own glow now instead of borrowing it from whatever level she happens to be in.
