Sep 26, 2026Brawl is here: a whole new way to play Lineguard
Lineguard started as a game about drawing lines to keep a running ninja alive. This update gives him a second job: Brawl, a fighting mode where you put the pen down and take on waves of enemies with your bare hands.

How it plays
- Tap an enemy to strike. Where you tap matters: the head, the body, or the legs to sweep them off their feet. Keep tapping and your hits chain into combos.
- Drag a path and the ninja dashes along it, kicking the first enemy he reaches.
- Counter on the gold ! When an enemy winds up, a gold ! shows the moment to strike. Hit them right then and their blow never lands, time slows, and yours hits twice as hard.
- Ultimate: the round button fills as you fight. Unleash a Tornado kick, or learn the Ground slam in the Dojo.
Four warlords
Every fifth wave ends with a warlord, and each one fights his own way:

- Iron Brute (wave 5) pounds the ground.
- Bow Master (wave 10) looses three arrows at once.
- Shadow Lord (wave 15) vanishes and kicks from both sides.
- War Chief (wave 20) calls in fighters to help him.
Beat a warlord and that wave becomes your checkpoint, so next time you can pick up from the wave after it.
Also new
- New enemies as the waves climb: archers, quick fighters, mages whose ink orbs you can hit back, and elites that only a counter can stop.
- Brawl has its own taiko drum track that builds as the fight gets harder.
- Your best moment is replayed on the results card, and Make clip turns it into a short video to share.
- Fixed a crash at the end of a run on some older browsers, and the game now starts as soon as you press Play.
Tips
- Brawl plays best with your phone upright. The running mode is best sideways.
- On a computer: click to hit, drag to dash, press E for your ultimate.
Thanks to everyone who has played so far. How far can you get in Brawl? Tell me in the comments which warlord gives you the most trouble.
