Riverlight is out on Google Play - every cast holds a story

One old journal. Five living legends. Riverlight is now live on Google Play.

This is a cozy fishing RPG about quiet water, the last journey your grandpa left unfinished, and the fish that outlived him. Here is what is actually in the build.

What shipped

Four waters, 48 fish. The home river, a lantern-lit lake, a deep gorge, and the open estuary under the lighthouse. Day and night change what bites.

A reel you can feel. The catch is a hold-and-release challenge rather than a tap. Pull too early and it slips; hold too long and the line gives. It is built for one thumb in portrait, which is the only way I playtested it.

A journal with a voice. Grandpa Theo left five unfinished legends. Each one is a chapter: read his narrated memories, follow the clue across the water, and land the fish that closes the entry.

A cabin that becomes yours. Decorate the riverside cabin, upgrade the rod and the creel, sell the catch, fill the collection. Progression is quiet rather than loud - nothing here punishes you for fishing slowly.

Full offline play. No account required.

Behind the build

The core design problem was tension without stress. A fishing minigame that is too easy stops being fishing, and one that is too hard stops being cozy. The hold-and-release window was tuned against real play sessions until it landed somewhere between the two, and the night waters were added because a lake at night simply reads differently from a lake at noon.

The two hero portraits in the game were edited with an image generation tool; the AI disclosure on the store page lists exactly what that covers.

What is next

More legend chapters, a weather system that changes which fish bite, and a photo mode for your best catches. If you want a specific water expanded first, say so below - that is how the next content pass gets ordered.
