# Alenir Idle v0.5.4 Devlog: Prestige Reborn, Pets Reborn & Aetherium Store
Welcome to v0.5.4, the Prestige Reborn, Pets Reborn & Aetherium Store update.
This is the biggest update since trading. Prestige and Ascension were rebuilt, the whole pet system was reworked and drawn, alt characters got clear rules, and the game got a proper Rules & Logs page, a new guide, a defeat window and more ways to spend Aetherium.
Nothing you own is removed in this update. Pets, gear, levels, titles and prestige progress stay with you. Where a system changed, the section below says what you get back.
1. Pets Reborn
The pet system was rebuilt from the skills up, and every pet now has its own picture.
- 36 pets, up from 17. Two of every kind (combat, gathering, crafting) at every tier from Common to Legendary, plus Mythic and Ancient pets. Thirteen of them are brand new Common to Legendary pets, and each has its own egg.
- New skills. Wards give a burst of max HP, mana surges refill mana, and gather and craft pets now give counters: Windfall (a bonus drop), Thrift (a chance to keep the materials of a craft), Masterstroke and Quickening. Every skill works the same in a fight, while gathering or crafting, and while you are away.
- Level perks. At pet levels 25, 50, 75 and 100 a pet gets a perk: a shorter cooldown, a stronger skill, a second small passive, and a final cooldown cut. Pets now level up to 120.
- A pet is worth about a fifth of your power at most. We measured every pet against a hero of each level, so a pet helps but never carries a hero.
- Percent max HP and defense from pets finally work. They were listed on some pets but never applied.
Combined pets have lineage names and an affinity
Combining a pet now names it after the families of the pets you fed it:
- Six families: Fire, Nature, Earth, Dark, Holy and Void.
- A name is built from a rank word, a fusion word and the pet's form, for example Awakened Magma Sprite.
- At 5 combines a pet takes its second form, and at 10 its third. The picture changes with the form.
- A combined pet has an affinity, the family it last took after. It adds a small bonus for every combine (Fire attack, Nature drop rate, Earth defense, Dark crit damage, Holy EXP, Void cooldown reduction) and tints the picture so you can tell at a glance.
Existing combined pets were renamed and given an affinity the first time you load the game.
Pictures for every pet and egg
- 36 pets in three forms each, 108 pictures, and 36 egg pictures.
- Pet cards in storage now look like inventory items. Hover or tap one for its details: passive bonuses, skill, affinity, milestones and bond.
- The picker, the combine window and the equipped slots show the pictures too.
2. Prestige 2.0
- Prestige Points are paid by a clear formula: 50 plus 10 per World Tier plus 5 per level above 100, shown line by line before you confirm.
- A new talent tree of capacity and identity: Split Focus, an extra crafting workbench, Warehouse and Pet Storage slots, queued crops, a buff potion slot, longer offline time, a second caravan, prestige titles and chat name colors.
- Constellations go up to rank 10, from rank 6 after three prestiges.
- The Prestige Shop is its own fixed shop. Skill cards are bought once and can be reclaimed for free. The Rare Merchant no longer sells anything for Prestige Points.
- Heroes who prestiged before get every Prestige Point they spent back, plus 30 per past prestige, and the "Veteran of the Old Ways" title.
3. Ascension Trials
- Each ascension needs level 120 and a victory over that ascension's Trial boss, with 3 attempts a day.
- The first clear of a Trial gives an Ancient pet egg.
- Ascension needs 3, 6, 10, 15 and 21 prestiges and stays limited to 5 ascensions.
- Three Mythic pets are sold only in the Prestige Shop, and three Ancient pets come from the Trials.
4. Alt Characters, Rules & Logs
You may play one alt next to your main hero.
- The main declares the alt with its vault id and hero name, and the alt confirms from its own account. Nobody can tag someone else's hero as an alt.
- An alt trades in gold only. No Aetherium listings, offers or bids, also with its main.
- A main and its alt can trade with each other, in gold.
- The pair shares one vote reward per site.
- Removing an active link starts a 30 day wait before you can declare another alt. A request nobody answers expires after 7 days.
Rules & Logs is a new page with the game rules in one place, your Market Log (every trade, listing and bid) and your Purchase Log (every Aetherium purchase). Staff see the same logs when they look into a report.
5. Economy and Balance
- Class rebalance. Every class now has 80 percent of its old base bonuses and 60 percent of its old growth per level.
- Food rebalance. Food buffs scale by rarity on a much smaller table, so a Transcendent feast no longer gives thousands of percent. Descriptions are generated from the real numbers.
- Matching materials merged. Seventeen materials that existed as two tiers with the same use are now one stack, and their sell prices were cut so a merged unit is worth 1.5 times the old Common price.
- Warehouse slots for Aetherium. The first extra slot costs 20 Aetherium and each next one 4 more, with no limit.
- Aetherium Store on Google Play, with double Aetherium on your first purchase of each pack.
- Pet passive bonuses are halved, and monsters gain crit evasion that lowers your crit chance by a share. Monster crit chance and crit damage no longer stop at a cap.
6. Quality of Life
- A rewritten Adventurer's Guide made for phones: 15 short topics you open from a Topics list.
- A defeat window that tells you what happened. Nothing is lost when you fall.
- Class reward cards wait in a list on the Character page until you claim them. A claimed card is locked and rolls no affixes.
- Who is online: tap the online count in chat to see what heroes did in the last 24 hours. You can hide your own activity in Settings.
7. Fixes
- A vote site set to a cycle under 24 hours was still counted as 24 hours.
- Settings that staff edit (event themes, chat links, feature flags) now reach players within 10 minutes.
- The Pet Eggs list on a phone: the egg picture is shown, and the Hatch buttons no longer cover the name.
- Monster crit damage reduction and crit evasion now show in Target Info, the fight panel and the Battle Sim, and the hit and dodge chances there match the fight.
- The Ascension page asked for level 50 while ascending needed level 120.
- A loadout could equip two copies of the same skill card.
Updating
Older versions can no longer save to the cloud or enter the Hall of Fame. Update from Google Play or reload the web game, and your progress carries over.
Thank you for the feedback that shaped this release, from the pet ideas to the alt rules. See you in the Astral Tavern.
