Why solo still uses two lanes
When I added solo play to Starvoxel, I considered collapsing the board to one lane. It made the mode simpler, but it also removed the thing the game is built around.
Solo therefore keeps the full two-lane board. An AI ally owns the upper lane, you own the lower one, and every leak hits the same shared star. The AI can help, but it cannot turn your lane into somebody else’s problem.
Each run starts with a seven-family squad chosen from 15 defender families. During battle you summon, merge matching family-and-tier pairs, and decide how to evolve Legendary defenders. The structure is the same in solo and online co-op, so learning one mode carries into the other.
Here is 20 seconds from the current released Nebula battlefield—actual full-screen gameplay, not concept art:

I’m tuning how readable the shared-health pressure feels. If you play tower defense solo, would you prefer an AI ally that behaves consistently or one that changes tactics from run to run?
