Portals are here (well… experimentally)
There's a new tool sitting in the Viper level editor, and it changes how a level thinks: the PORTAL. Place a pair, and the snake that slides into one comes shooting out the other, a wall becomes a shortcut, a trap, a fake-out. A maze becomes a puzzle.
What a portal does: portals come in linked, color-coded pairs. The snake teleports between them, carrying its direction through. The editor enforces the rules for you: matched pairs, no two portals right next to each other, and the level still has to be beatable (every egg reachable through the portals) before it'll save. It sits in the palette next to WALL, EGG, and ERASE.
It's experimental, and that's the point. The tool works and levels are playable, but we still don't have official levels with portals. The fastest way to learn is to watch what you build. So: open CREATE, grab PORTAL, make something elegant or something evil, and share it by QR or link.
What's coming next: official portal levels (a proper hand-built set, not just the sandbox), and new mechanics beyond portals that we'll reveal in future devlogs.
