Alenir Idle v0.3.9.9 Devlog: Codex Consolidation, Player Titles & Custom Domain

Welcome to the v0.3.9.9 update for Alenir Idle!

This update focuses on quality of life, streamlined interface navigation, character identity, and network performance optimizations, along with groundwork for future community systems.

Here is everything included in this release:

1. Custom Domain Launch: aleniridle.com

Alenir Idle is officially moving to its dedicated domain: aleniridle.com!

  • Seamless Migration: If you previously bookmarked or played on 
    alenir-idle.web.app
    , visiting the old address will automatically transfer your character, items, and cloud credentials to 
    aleniridle.com
    without losing your progress.
  • Dedicated Landing & About Page: Learn about game mechanics, multiclass combos, and features at 
    aleniridle.com/about
    .
  • Search & PWA Updates: Updated canonical metadata, sitemaps, and icons for improved web app and browser integration.

2. Codex Consolidation: Lore & Achievements Unified

To keep the game interface clean and intuitive as content expands, the Compendium and Codex have been overhauled:

  • Integrated Tabs: Lore books and Achievements now live directly inside the Codex Compendium as dedicated tabs.
  • Cleaner Menus: Removed redundant top-level navigation clutter while keeping all reward claims, lore reading, and achievement trackers easily accessible.
  • Preserved Deep Links: Notifications and quest trackers directing to achievements or lore entries navigate directly into the correct Codex tab.

3. Character Titles & Profile Customization

Show off your accomplishments across the realm of Alenir:

  • Earned Titles: Milestone achievements and realm feats now unlock distinct character titles.
  • Hero Profile Display: Select and equip your preferred title directly from your Character Profile to customize your hero's public identity across leaderboards and taverns.

4. Community Safeguards & Hero Naming Guidelines

To maintain a healthy, welcoming player environment:

  • Hero Naming Policy: Character creation now includes real-time name validation to block impersonation, reserved staff names, and abusive handles.
  • Name Directives: If a name violates guidelines, a seamless rename prompt allows players to choose a new valid name and immediately continue their adventure.

5. Performance: Drastic Network & Read Reductions

We re-engineered background data synchronization to make the game lighter on device data and battery:

  • Optimized Chat & Tavern Polling: Chat channels and Astral Tavern threads now use smart incremental queries and local caching, cutting background network reads by over 90%.
  • Zero Idle Load: When running in background tabs or unlinked sessions, chat polling pauses cleanly to eliminate unnecessary bandwidth usage.

6. Groundwork for Future Trading (Inactive)

Behind the scenes, we deployed the item instance ledger schemas required for safe, duping-resistant trading systems in future updates. Player trading remains completely dormant and inactive for now while security checks and balance gates are refined.
