Alenir Idle v0.4.1 Devlog: Clarity
Welcome to v0.4.1, the Clarity update.
This release is built almost entirely from what you told us in the Tavern and in world chat: too many menus, a Combat Power number that jumped around, no way to undo a pet combine, and ingredients that did not say where to find them. Thank you to everyone who wrote in, especially Kugaraya, Rice12 and MechBunny. We also rebalanced a few things that were out of line.
1. A Smaller Menu (30 pages down to 20)
The sidebar had grown to 30 entries. It now has 6 groups and 20 destinations, and related pages share a tab bar:
- Adventures: Combat (Fight and Explore tabs), Challenges (Dungeons, Rifts, Spire, World Boss), Quests, Guild Hall.
- Community: Astral Tavern, Union, Hall of Fame (with Realm Chronicles).
- Realm: Market (Shop, Rare Merchant, Player Market), Aetherial Conduit, Rebirth (Prestige and Ascension), Settings (with Changelog).
- Hero: Classes now live inside the Character page. Achievements and Lore are Codex tabs.
Nothing was removed. Every old page still opens where you expect it, including links from the tutorial.
- Search finds tabs too: type "spire" and pick Challenges > Spire to jump straight to that tab.
- Collapsible groups: collapse any sidebar group; the choice is remembered. Search also works with the flat sidebar style.
2. Combat Power You Can Trust
Combat Power used to change depending on where you looked, because each screen counted different things. Now there are two numbers:
- Stable Combat Power: your permanent strength (gear, classes, pets, Homestead, guild perks and so on) without food or potions. Dashboard, Settings, the Hall of Fame and the Tavern showcase all show this one.
- Live Combat Power: the same number plus your active food and potion buffs.
A new Combat Power card (Character stats tab, and the info button on the Dashboard) shows the formula in plain words and how much each source adds: equipment, classes, mastery, relics, constellations, pets and more.
Hall of Fame entries keep their old number until that hero syncs again, which happens once per session.
3. Pets
- Inherited abilities now work. Until now a pet that inherited an ability from a combine only displayed it. It now takes effect in combat, gathering, crafting, farming and offline progress. Pets that already carry an inherited ability gain its effect right away.
- Combine preview: before you confirm, you see which pets are consumed, the odds of keeping or changing the ability, and the likely element.
- Restore Original Ability: free, and available on any pet that holds an inherited ability. Restoring does not reset the ability cooldown.
4. Safer Selling and Clearer Crafting
- Quick Sell on the All tab shows what is about to go, by category with counts and gold, plus your most valuable stacks. Because the All tab includes gear, consumables and cards, it asks for a second tap.
- Ingredient chips in Creation now show where a material comes from (drops, gathering, shops, recipes) when you tap or hover, including in the compact mobile view.
5. Balance Changes
- Reflect damage: Crystal Scorpion reflect is halved to 7.5 percent and Elder Wyrm to 5.0 percent, and the reflected damage is now reduced by your defense. At 300 defense a Scorpion's reflect takes about 3 percent of your hit instead of 15 percent. Defense matters in these fights now.
- World Boss milestones now scale with the boss: thresholds are 0.1, 0.5, 2, 8 and 25 percent of its max HP instead of fixed damage numbers. Rewards are unchanged, but most heroes will now claim fewer milestones each cycle. A deeper boss rework is planned for a later release.
- Aetherial Conduit EXP halved: Celestial Blessing EXP is 4 percent (was 8) and Slumber Resonance is 1.5 percent per rank (was 3). Ranks you already bought are kept and not refunded; gold and other effects are unchanged.
- Offline reward boost: watching the ad now adds 50 percent more EXP and gold to your Welcome Back summary (x1.5). Spending 25 Aetherium still doubles it (x2).
6. Known Gaps
- Sharing an item in chat (Item Showcase) is not in this release. It needs a server change and is on the list.
- If a Scorpion or Wyrm still hits too hard for a well-built hero, tell us in the Tavern. A per-hit cap is the next lever, and we would rather tune it from your fights than guess.
7. Thank You
Navigation, pet recovery, ingredient sources and the Combat Power explainer all started as player posts. Keep writing them: the Astral Tavern is where the next release gets decided.
