What if the game started before you ever reached the game?

CYDI's funnel has always had a step I didn't like. Someone sees a clip, likes the idea, lands on a page that describes a drawing game - and only then, maybe, installs something or starts a full game to find out whether they enjoy it. The actual product is about twenty seconds long, and it was sitting behind two decisions.

So the game now starts earlier. Individual shapes have become standalone drawing challenges: permanent pages that begin the moment they open. An object is shown for a few seconds, the canvas goes blank, you redraw it from memory, and you get a score out of 100 with your line drawn over the target so you can see where it drifted. No install, no account, no menu.

Cat and dog are live - an animal you have known your whole life turns out to be much harder to draw once the reference is gone - alongside pure-shape rounds like a perfect circle, a star and a heart. More are being added.

Why this is a funnel change and not just another page:

  • The first thing a visitor does is play, not read.
  • Every challenge ends on a real result screen, which is the natural place to offer the next challenge, the full game, or the Android build.
  • Each challenge is its own permanent, findable page, so a single object can carry its own traffic instead of everything funnelling through one store link.

The challenges are practice rounds by design: no coins, no best scores, nothing unlocked or saved. That keeps them safe to hand to someone who has never heard of CYDI, and keeps the full game - 270+ shapes across 12 categories, a Daily Challenge and the two multiplayer modes - as the thing you continue into rather than the thing you have to commit to first.
