Game Description

You're a knight standing on a castle wall. Orcs walk in from the right side of the screen and you shoot them before they reach the gate. That's the whole moment-to-moment loop and it's really simple in the first few rounds.

Where it gets interesting is between fights. You go back to a castle hub and spend your gold. In the forge for weapons, a wizard tower for spells, a bastion that puts towers on your wall, a tavern where you recruit heroes who fight alongside you. There is a loadout screen where you pick what you take. Later the challenge is more on what you pick to win the fight than what you upgraded.

What's in it so far

  • 30 level campaign, roughly an hour if you don't get stuck
  • Endless mode with a global leaderboard and weekly leagues
  • Heroes
  • Dynamic Lighting: Morning, midday, evening and night
  • Boss fights against orc warlords and dragons
  • A codex written from the hero's perspective instead of as stat sheets -There is even more!

Monetization

Free. No ads, no energy timers. There are in-app purchases, and I've tried to build the campaign so you can finish it without them.

About

Built solo over a looong time in SpriteKit and SwiftUI. I played a game called Defender 2 into the ground as a kid and always thought that loop had more potential than it ever used, so this is basically me finishing someone else's idea.

What is coming up?

The next few things will be first resistances to enemys so what you pick and choose in your loadout matters even more. A 2nd campaign with a new faction after the orcs. More Items, walls spells, heroes and skins etc.. I am so hyped to build more content on the system I build so lets have fun with it.
