Worldly Geography: Map Wiz
Media Assets

Game Description
Worldly starts with a simple belief: Before we can understand the world, we have to know where it is.
We live in a time when we are exposed to more information about the world than any generation before us. Wars, elections, migration, trade, culture, religion and political movements arrive on our screens every day. But information without context is incredibly difficult to understand.
A country on a map may seem like trivia. Learning its name might seem insignificant. But knowing that country exists is extremely important, to give you a place to put everything you learn about it afterward. You learn that Myanmar is also called Burma, and then you wonder why. You discover its history.
Its history introduces you to colonialism, military rule, ethnic conflict and neighboring countries. Those neighboring countries lead somewhere else.
A news story suddenly means more because you recognize the places involved. A historical event makes more sense because you understand the borders around it. A political conflict becomes less abstract because you can visualize the people, countries and regions involved. One small piece of knowledge creates a hook for the next one.
Worldly Geography is a phone app for naming countries, flags, and capitals. The list is fixed: 196 sovereign countries (JetPunk-style). If you can name them, they count. Abbreviations and alternate spellings usually work (
USA, UK, DRC). Territories like Greenland fill in with their owner (Denmark), but they are not extra points.
You make an account, pick a username and home country, and you sit on a green, blocky UI with hard shadows. Six tabs at the bottom.
There are three game types, plus a learn track that is not timed.
- Countries (the main game)
A world map and a text box. You type country names. A correct name scores 1 point, the country fills green, and the box clears. You do not tap the map. Wrong or incomplete input just sits there until it resolves. Already-guessed names shake and toast. A toggle can show remaining countries, including a per-continent leftover count.
Solo: pick 2 / 5 / 10 / 15 minutes. Clock runs, you type. Hitting all 196 ends it early. Default pitch on the home screen is 15 minutes. Multiplayer: 1v1 against a friend. Same map, shared timer. Both of you type. Whoever names a country first owns it (their color). Highest score when time is up wins. You send a challenge, they accept, you wait in a lobby, then it starts. If you drop, you can rejoin. History of those matches lives in Logs.
Background music loops during a countries round and cuts when the game ends.
-
Flags
Multiple choice. A flag, four country names. 4 lives. A wrong answer costs a life; at 2 lives you get a warning. You can spend 1 emerald to see which continent the flag is from. After you hit 0 lives you can spend 5 emeralds once to refill and keep going. Before you start you pick continents or “full map” (196). High score is stored on your profile. -
Capitals
Same structure as Flags: capital name, four countries, 4 lives, same hint/continue costs, same continent picker. High score is also stored.
Flags and Capitals do not put the same country twice in a row.
Learning (World Tour)
Third tab, Modules. Countries are chunked by continent into groups of about 10. You walk a dotted path of circular checkpoints. A module unlocks when the previous one is done, or you can spend 10 emeralds to skip ahead.
Each module:
- Intro page: those countries with flag + capital listed.
- Flag matching: tap flag, tap country name. Progress saves per flag. Leave and come back.
- Capital matching: drag capitals onto countries. Fail the same capital three times and you get a flag hint. Also saves.
First completion: +1 emerald. Zero mistakes: +3. Replays do not pay again.
Social
Not a feed. It is friends, challenges, and profiles.
Search: find people by username. Empty state shows recently joined players. Trophy icon opens a leaderboard. Friends: friend requests, list, tap a row to open their profile, tap challenge to start a countries match. Incoming challenges also show on the Game tab with a sound. Push notifications on a real device. Logs: your past multiplayer matches (won / lost / draw / live) and rematch. You can view anyone’s profile: level, games played, multiplayer wins, flags/capitals bests, badges, home country.
Profile, levels, badges, money
Home tab is your profile.
Level is earned based on games played. Level 1 at 0. Level 2 at 10. Each level after that needs 5 more games than the last (15, then 20, …). Stats: games played, multiplayer wins, flags best, capitals best. Continent badges: in a countries game, if you name every country on a continent, that counts as a “perfect” for that continent. Do it 3 times and you get that continent’s badge. Get all six and you get a crown next to your name. Emeralds: small persistent currency. Start with 4. +1 per day on open. Earn from modules and countries scores (+1 per 50 guessed, +10 for 196, +2 for a multiplayer win). Spend: hint 1, continue 5, early module 10. Shown as a gem + number, not a shop.
You can share a result graphic after a countries game.
Country of the Day (from the Game tab): one random country that day, with capital, population, currency, languages, timezones, region, area, borders. Facts are bundled in the app so they are actually filled in.
- Settings: username, avatar, country, recognized-countries list, feedback.
