Chess, plus four things you can switch off one at a time:
- Terrain. Walls, forges, altars and fire, generated fresh each match.
- The descent. A piece that kills gets stronger. Three kills and it can kill without moving.
- Merges. A rook onto your own bishop is a queen. Onto your own knight, a chancellor.
- Sealed tiles. The board starts bare. Tiles open mid-game into something nobody could see.
