About this game
Every door opens onto a chapter written for you.
Sub Rosa is a text-based LitRPG for iPhone and Android. Pick a book, name your protagonist and place your stats by hand: attack, defense, charisma and intellect. Then descend, room by room.
Read each room, choose a door, and decide how to face what’s behind it: strike, brace, speak or study. The dice decide the rest. A clean system block under the prose shows every roll, every hit and every point of experience you earn.
A book you walk, not a run you repeat One character carries you through five chapters and twenty descents. Level up in the room that earned it, unlock traits, choose your calling (duelist, scholar, silver tongue, warden or delver), spend gold in the armory and bring relics home. Fall in battle and you lose a breath, not your character.
Dungeons that hold together Every dungeon is written in full before you step in, so a clue in the fourth room can pay off in the nineteenth. Gather hidden truths and uncover a dungeon’s secret before you meet its boss. Every finished descent is saved in your chronicle, so a completed book reads back as a book.
12 genres, 24 books, 600+ hours Fantasy, Pirates, Western, Sci-Fi, Horror, Feudal Japan, Steampunk, Venice, Vikings and more. Each new week brings a ranked dungeon that every player faces at the same time.
Start free. The whole first chapter of a Fantasy, Pirates or Western book, about five and a half hours of play.

AI disclosure
How AI was used The room descriptions in Sub Rosa were generated with AI. The game itself (the progression system, combat, dice, stats, traits, relics and the structure of every book) was designed by me. Every dungeon is generated and stored in full before release, so nothing is improvised while you play: every player reads the same book, and a clue in an early room can pay off later.
