Game Description
Glipshot is the first game from Shelter Gaming, which is just me: a one-person studio making games in my spare time.
I wanted a game you understand in two seconds and still think about an hour later, so the whole thing runs on a single tap. A wheel spins, and its gaps get narrower every time they come round. Fire early through a wide gap for 1 point. Wait, and the next one is worth 2, then 3, 5, 8, all the way up to 15, by which point you're aiming at a sliver. Wait too long and it opens back out, worth less again.
The catch is a clock that's always draining. Every hit tops it up, but the cheap gaps barely cover the wait, and it drains faster the further you get. Every thirty points the wheel steps up a stage. Your timing decides how far you get, not luck.
A few things I cared about:
- One input. No swipes, no buttons. You're only deciding when.
- No pay-to-win. Shooters, bolts and backdrops are earned by playing.
- Ads stay out of the way. They appear between runs, never during one, and your first few runs have none.
- Plays offline, with no account or sign-in.
- Combos. Land five 8s or five 15s in a row and the fifth pays double.
It's free on Google Play (iOS coming soon). If you'd like to try it before installing, there's a small playable demo on the front page of the website at https://glipshot.com
This is my first release, so every bit of feedback helps. If you give it a go, I'd love to know your best score.
