Game Description

Moon is the classic Texas trick-taking domino game — a leaner cousin of 42, built for quick, sharp hands and bold bids.

Every round starts with an auction. Declare how many of the seven tricks you'll take, then name your trump: any number from 0 to 6, all doubles as their own suit, or no trump at all. Make your bid and you score it. Miss it and you lose it. Call all seven — shooting the moon — and you can win the whole game in a single hand.

Two ways to play. Three-player Moon uses a trimmed 22-tile set where it's every player for themselves, and the two who lost the auction quietly team up to bury the bidder. Four-player Moon uses the full double-six set with fixed partnerships, where reading your partner's leads matters as much as the tiles in your hand.

Play your house rules. Hosts can configure the variations real players actually use — the 21-tile deal with no exchange, naming trump before peeking at the middle tile, scoring in marks instead of points, forced bids, and the Virginia-style "shoot the moon" call.

Play with friends over a shared game code, or jump into a table solo against opponents tuned from beginner to expert. Learn the game in a few hands; spend years getting good at it.
